Good News

Madi's MRI came back today. Thankfully it was perfect, no neurological abnormalities. Her neck showed curving of the spine since she was having a little episode but this is normal for her condition. Luckily, it straightens itself out when she feels better. We are happy.

Poor Disgusting Baby

Sick kids are disgusting creatures. Madison has had a rough few days. She caught an awful cold and her nose just will not stop. Friday, She had her 1 year check up. She got 3 big needles in the arms. She is in the 80th percentile for height and weight. She is 30" long and 23.3 lbs. A lot happens in a year, this time last year we couldn't get her to gain an ounce.

Saturday, we trekked it back into Boston Children's for her MRI. It was quite traumatic for all involved. It took them two sticks to get Madi's IV in place so she could be sedated. They mangled her poor little wrists and hands. The bruises do not show well. It is rough to hear your child scream like that. She was a trooper, but wanted no part of the nurses and doctor's. When the nurse would come in the room she would start yelling. Inserting the IV was the roughest ordeal. They taped her up so much it wasn't much better removing her IV once her scan was done. Thankfully it is all over and hopefully will never be done again.

We relaxed at home the rest of the weekend. Poor kid is still a bit under the weather. She just can't catch a break.

The Big Girl Tub

Madison had her first big girl Oatmeal bath in the tub. It was a riot. She came in as I was filling the tub. She leaned over saw her toys floating and tried to climb in. Tucker was fascinated too. As you can see by the middle photo she was splashing and jumping all around. I loved the last photo. Too bad my hand blocked the darn flash and she would not cooperate for another picture. She was a crazy woman, 4 hands were not enough to keep her upright.
Madi loves her new sweater.

The Finished Product

Dave thought I should post the end result. She was kneading it like dough.

The Big 1.0

Happy 1st Birthday Madison! I cannot believe how quickly time has gone by. It seems like yesterday the top 2 photos were taken not a whole year ago.
Today, I worked a half day. I picked Madi up and we went to polka dots to play with the toys. It was fun. We celebrated with cake when dad got home. She played with the cake like it was playdoh.
Yesterday, I started feeling nostalgic. I thought of how Dr. Edwards called and cancelled my appointment due to the fowl weather. He decided it was time to induce. I reminisced with Dave about that night in the hospital. Today at work I was thinking of how my water broke in the morning and the real fun started. It was finally when my 4th shift change of nurses occurred I finally lost it on the nurse and kept yelling this is ridiculous andthey performed a c-section. I will never forget that suction feeling and Dr. E saying "oh boy". Thankfully "oh boy" is just an expression he uses from time to time and she really wasn't a boy.
Enough flashing back to her wonderful arrival. February 1st will be her first party. Leave it to me to only have the Superbowl be the only day that we have open. Anyway, we'll have fun no matter what.

Sweetie

She cracks me up. She loves climbing in the fridge. She's never had a sundae but she is ready to try. Hard to believe in just 2 days she will be a year old.
